University of Klagenfurt

Since its foundation in 1970, the University of Klagenfurt has established itself as a leading voice in the canon of Austrian universities, as a globally networked research institution and as a hub for knowledge acquisition, knowledge exchange and knowledge transfer in the entire Alps-Adriatic region. Together with the Universities of Graz, Innsbruck, Linz, Salzburg and Vienna, it is one of the six state universities with a broad spectrum of subjects.

The research achievements of the University of Klagenfurt develop national and international visibility. The University of Klagenfurt makes its contribution to solving the major current problems by bundling and strengthening various fields of research. The establishment of the profile-forming research clusters Energy Management & Technology, Sustainability, Self-organising Systems and Visual Culture allows holistic approaches and produces excellent research results. The projects of the University of Klagenfurt are important sources of impetus for Carinthia as a business location.

Projects of the University of Klagenfurt were part of Österreich forscht at a very early stage. In particular, projects in the field of health and care as well as intangible cultural heritage are among them. We are therefore particularly pleased that the University of Klagenfurt is now also part of the Citizen Science Network Austria and we would like to extend a warm welcome!

For the University of Klagenfurt,
Vicerector for Research, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Friederike Wall
