Identifying Mobility Aspects of Daily Traffic Using Citizen Science in Lower Austria
Let's make mobility more climate-friendly: How do you get around? Share your experiences in workshops and via an app. Together, we’ll develop practical solutions for sustainable traffic, cleaner air, and a better quality of life—quick to implement and cost-effective. Join us!
What are the aims of the project?
Your journeys. Your ideas. Your mobility transition. Traffic jams, searching for charging stations or parking spaces – and at the same time the feeling that things could be better. But how? IMPETUS lets you be the designer! In this citizen science project, we work with you to develop solutions for climate-friendly mobility in Lower Austria. We want to understand how people get around—and, most importantly, how we can make it even better! Our goal is to develop practical solutions with you to make transportation more climate-friendly, efficient, and appealing.
How can you participate in the project?
Track your routes using the app, discuss cycle highways, ride-sharing benches, or e-charging stations in workshops—and see your ideas become reality. Because the best solutions come from those who use them every day. Join us! The MyTraces app will be released in May 2026 and can be downloaded by anyone from the App Store (Android and iOS). When using the app, great importance is attached to data protection. Take advantage of this opportunity to record your daily journeys and draw attention to specific hot spots (dangers, potential, risks, opportunities, etc.) in traffic. In addition, residents of the partner communities (Wieselburg-Land and KEM Südliches Waldviertel) can participate in analyzing the data and developing practical and easily implementable solutions. Join in and help optimize traffic in Lower Austria!
