Connecting evidence-based health information and citizens
Health information is everywhere: in social media, apps, social networks, or medical practices. But which sources are trustworthy, and which information is reliable? In CONNECT, we work together with citizens to explore how people assess the reliability of health information in everyday life.
What are the aims of the project?
The aim of the project is to better understand how people decide which health information they trust. The findings are intended to bridge the gap between scientific evidence and people’s everyday needs, helping individuals make well-informed health decisions.
How can you participate in the project?
As part of a group of around 10–15 citizen scientists, you can contribute your own experiences and actively take part in research activities:
- Collect and evaluate health information from your everyday life.
- Conduct short interviews with people in your social environment.
- Exchange ideas with other participants and researchers.
Participation is also possible together with another person. No prior knowledge is required. During the project, three in-person meetings in Graz and two shorter phases of data collection are planned. Travel and catering expenses for meetings in Graz will, of course, be covered.
