Engaged Citizens Identify Measures for the Joint Move towards Climate Friendly Communities (CoClimA)
CoClimA works with clubs and community organisations to develop and test practical actions for climate protection in everyday life. Together, we explore what works best and how climate-friendly behaviour can be strengthened within groups and communities.
What are the aims of the project?
CoClimA aims to explore, together with clubs and community groups, how climate-friendly behaviour can be encouraged in everyday life. Club members actively participate in the research as citizen scientists. Together with the project team, they develop and test climate actions that fit their organisation and support climate protection in daily life. The project investigates which measures work well in practice and how climate-friendly behaviour can be strengthened within communities.

Description of roles in the CoClimA project
CoClimA is carried out by a research team from Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH in collaboration with the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) and Joanneum Research. The research team oversees the project, supports the participating clubs/associations, and analyzes the collected data. The members of the associations actively contribute to the research as Citizen Scientists: they develop and test climate actions, document their experiences, and bring their perspectives into the project. Regional project assistants support the associations as local contact persons. The project is funded by the Gesellschaft für Forschungsförderung NÖ (GFF NÖ).
