Ferdinand Porsche FERNFH is Austria’s only distance-learning university of applied sciences and specialises in flexible, employment-compatible higher education. Its blended-learning model offers students largely location- and time-independent access to academic programmes, combining scientific quality with digital innovation and practical relevance.
This focus on accessibility, participation and application-oriented learning increasingly shapes the university’s research activities as well. Citizen science is a natural extension of this approach: research processes are designed to make it easier for people outside academia to participate.
With the project CoClimA, FERNFH has launched its first citizen science initiative, laying the groundwork for a systematic expansion of participatory research. By joining the Citizen Science Network Austria, the university aims to further strengthen this path.
